Address by President of Biathlon Federation of Belarus to fans and the sports community

With the winter season approaching, the Biathlon Federation of Belarus is closely monitoring developments in global sports and has noted significant changes on the international sports agenda. The Federation welcomes the International Olympic Committee's decision to lift all restrictions on the participation of Belarusian athletes in competitions. A key addition to this step is the amendments to the Olympic Charter, which further strengthen the principles of political neutrality and the autonomy of sport. The Federation views these measures as fundamentally important – they create equal conditions for the participation of all athletes in international competitions and will contribute to the unity of the Olympic family, of which biathlon is an integral part.

The Belarusian Biathlon Federation firmly reaffirms its commitment to the peaceful resolution of any military conflicts and adheres to the principles of respect and mutual understanding between peoples.
Regardless of international tensions, sport should never become an instrument of political confrontation. This creates divisions in the international sports community, and today we are already witnessing its tangible consequences.

In anticipation of the upcoming Сongress IBU the Federation expresses hope that global sports officials will demonstrate the necessary determination and integrity in upholding the independence of sport and protecting the rights and interests of athletes. The BBF expresses its readiness to cooperate with the IBU and participate in joint efforts to strengthen the unity of the biathlon community.
